Weekly Update: January 05, 2005
Greetings To All
Novaliches High School Alumni
On-line Community Members!
By Chona Villafuerte-Go NHS Batch 1986
Website Administrator
As your Website Administrator I would
like to take the time to thank all of you for your support. I look
forward to an exciting year and, with your help, hope to continue the
progress our NHS Alumni On-line Community has made in the past few weeks
we are actually on-line.
I hope everyone had a
happy holiday and was able to enjoy time with family and friends. I
would like to welcome all new members to our On-line Community and thank
all the dedicated volunteers for their efforts last year. It’s pretty
amazing, how our registered member numbers grew with just a couple of
weeks of recruitment and invitations (which only started last
December 7, 2004).
Well done everyone!!
2004 Year in Review
It’s no secret, but another year has come and gone. I’m sure we all
remember special events that took place during 2004—perhaps an
engagement, a marriage, a birth of a child, or maybe an anniversary.
But how many of you are
aware that our Alma Mater, Novaliches High School celebrated its 40th
anniversary last year? This speaks volume of the long-time legacy and
history of our beloved High School.
And our first all-batch
NHS Alumni On-line Community is not at all behind with wonderful news.
It’s because of your efforts and your alumni referrals that we’re
a strong and indeed a growing on-line community.
I thank our First
Moderator, Mr. Gerry Bayona Batch 1975 for all his efforts in making
sure that all is well with our Message Board. Thank you for your
dedication. If there’s anything you need, please don’t hesitate to call on
us all.
And, to Mr. Benjie Canonoy Batch 1984 , thank you for stepping
forward so quickly to take on the responsibilities of our next Forum
Moderator for the coming month of February year 2005.
Reminder:
Please Check out our
many volunteer and involvement opportunities!
We hope that you have read your welcome new member letter (this is the
letter we sent you after you registered) which lays out all important
information to make the most of your membership.
We have also provided on our welcome member letter a list of
current volunteer opportunities
and they are as follows:
1) Forum Moderators
2) Lost Forum Committee Member
3) Tell A Friend Committee Member
4) Newsletter Committee Member
5) Message Board Contributor
6) Special Event
Coordinator
Our
“VT” (Volunteer Team) is currently organizing a campaign drive for all
our registered members to determine their interest in volunteering. If
you are interested and wanted to get involve, please contact us at
nhsqcalumni@gmail.com
Additionally, if there’s a topic you’d like presented on our Message
Board & Newsletter, or if you know of an excellent writer from our
fellow alumni members, please pass this information to us
immediately.
Or simply sign up
for our Volunteer Team by sending us email to
nhsqcalumni@gmail.com
Please note that we don't manage our volunteers; we just don't have the
resources for that. We want self-starters and self-managers only.
We are
also working on
several ideas for our On-line community and will share them with you
soon. Please help us spread the word by telling your family and friends
about our site.
Again, thank you for your support and your active participation in our
programs and events.
I look forward to a productive year.
