Top 10 Excuses Not
to Attend Your
High School Reunion
(and why you should go
anyway...)
1. I have to work.
(Get time off –
if they won’t allow it
then you might as well quit!
Guess there’s no point
in staying…)
2. The kids are in school.
(They won't mind if you
go without them.)
3. I didn't like you then,
why would I like you now?
(We've changed! )
4. I prefer to remember
the class the way we were.
(We haven't changed a bit)
5. My tastes have matured.
(Don’t worry we'll make sure
to hire
The Booze Stop Bar
to do the trick!)
6. I was a loser in
high school.
(Then nobody remembers
- here's your second
chance to make a great
first impression)
7. I haven't lived up
to my potential.
(Whatever)
8. I've gained weight.
(You're not the only one -
don't worry there is not
going to be a
swimsuit competition)
9. I'm on the NBI’s
"Most Wanted" list.
(Don't worry - we have a
strict "Don't Ask, Don't Tell
Policy - what happens at
the reunion stays
at the reunion)
10. I'm in denial about
being out of high school
20 years.
(If you'd like,
we'll tell everyone you
didn't graduate yet.)

Bimonthly Update As of
03/16/05:
Administrator's Notes:
By Chona Villafuerte-Go
NHS Batch 1986
Website Administrator
Welcome to our
first Bimonthly Update.
Thanks to everyone
for your continued support in promoting our NHS Alumni On-line Community
website to family, friends and even your co-workers! To all the new
members joining us for their first Update - Welcome!! Past updates are
also archived online for those who'd like to read them again.
And that's right effective immediately our on-line community now have a
"bimonthly
(twice a month) update"
instead of a weekly update. This will provide me
with enough means and opportunity to do my job effectively as Website
Administrator. Not to mention, staying on top of a difficult yet
worthwhile tasks of updating our website, processing member
applications, answering e-mails, plus of course staying current on our
thriving on-line community.
For the past weeks and months which I have not really expected - our on-line community have
begun a lot of changes under way, plans in the works, and, most
recently, some new work "just beginning." Each time, I imagined that the
following week or month would present something like a finished product,
or at least a close to perfect working On-line community website. Just
one more effort, I felt so sure, I would bring about the settled, fully
re-engineered website services & features for our on-line community I
have been struggling very hard to assemble.
This, I'm relieved to report, has been a painstaking 2-week in which
most of that happened.
I am, of course, still learning, adjusting, and experimenting,
as I always will be. There will surely be more changes ahead. The
changes indeed have been slower and harder for me to achieve, but they
are now up and running. Again I’d like to describe not what I expect to
do, but what we have done and are doing, and what I am starting to learn
from it all.
Much of what I’ve learned about successful services & features for
our
on-line community, especially in the younger “single” crowds, suggest
that the best results come from offering a chance to do things that are
of value to others, and to work alongside attentive members on things
that are fun as well as challenging.
I’m convinced that accounting more precisely for what we do, where we
still need to improve, what we've learned, and where we're headed, is at
least as important for our valued members and our future members. That's
a commitment I’d like to make in the coming weeks, and for all the
coming months and years we can foresee as this adventure unfolds.
This concludes another Update.
I do enjoy hearing from you.
Any comments, suggestions and/or ideas are always appreciated. So drop
me a line at nhsqcadministrator@verizon.net or nhsqcalumni@verizon.net
Until next time, take care and thank you all for your continued
support!
NHS OFFICE OF
THE GUIDANCE AND COUNSELING SERVICES LINK
We believe that
our success hinges upon the collective and individual voices of our
registered members, and we strive to achieve this goal by keeping
registered members stay connected to our alma mater. As a pivotal part
of the NHS family, you can be confident that your interests are
important to us. A lot of you have requested information about our
school and I’m very delighted to announce that our On-line Community will now have a window view into the
School’s long and proud history, a direct link between alumni and our
alma mater Novaliches High School.
Special thanks of course to Mr.
Gilore Estrada Ofrancia NHS Batch 1995 and NHS Faculty Member, for
trusting us and providing the means to make it all possible.
Our On-line Community now can keep its
members and friends involved in the School’s present by being well
informed of our school’s current activities and programs. No matter how
far away (either in time or location) alumni have traveled from all
across the globe, information on the governance of today’s School will
just be a button away. The following are links to NHS Office of the
Guidance and Counseling Services (also available on all of our On-line
Community Webpages):

Also, by doing our
job well today, our On-line Community can make it much easier for our
School to call on us its beloved sons and daughters for help tomorrow.
This is also a
wonderful opportunity for all of us to renew acquaintances, reminisce
with our former classmates and enjoy the natural beauty of our alma
mater as well as our home land, the Philippines. Mabuhay ang mga
taga-pablik!!

Featured Business
for the Month:
Booze Stop Bar & Grill Restaurant
Life is Good! This is the central theme of the
Booze Stop. Whether celebrating a
birthday, hosting a special event, or a simple rest and recreation, you
will never run out of reasons to drop by and have fun!
Our fellow NHS grad Mr. Norman Garcia Batch 1993
put up this place with his friends some months ago.
They serve a wide variety of dishes ranging from grills, pica-picas,
fingerfoods, seafoods, sizzlers, and a lot more.
Booze Stop
is the Kamagong bar and
grill famous for Beers by the Timba (big pail), exotic cocktails,
romantic beach huts, the Beer Bong, live music, and delicious food
served from the grill or sizzling plate.
It's a perfect place for dates, family dinners, and chilling out with
friends after work.
They are open everyday from 5pm onwards with live
bands on the following days.
Wednesdays - "Migey Band"
Thursdays - "Trilogy"
Saturdays - "Buttercookies"
An all-NHS student
band, "Intoxicate" plays there once a month. Please visit their website
below to see the vicinity map. THANK YOU!

contributing to our NHS Memories Page

This SURELY takes
us back to 1969...taking us cruising through the
hallways of our own high school memories and learning
more about the year as it is recalled by our fellow
alumni who have not outgrown such wonderful
memories....
Also WANTED: NHS MEMORIES
Do you have any stories to tell? Perhaps you had an
experience of either something that happened in high
school or since then that would be good to share.
Let NHS family and friends catch up with
your life through your stories. You don't
have to wait for the reunion party to share.
If you would like
to submit a story for our On-line Community, simply email the story to
nhsqcalumni@verizon.net
You needn't fret over
details like grammar and spelling either...the website administrator is
a professional editor.

the Constitution specifically on
the following: a. make the
legislature an unicameral body; b.
the form of government from
presidential to parliamentary
where the head of government is
the prime minister. 2. To ease
