Welcome once again to our Monthly Update as of July 31, 2005

Thanks to everyone for your continued support in promoting our NHS Alumni On-line Community website to family, friends and even your co-workers! To all the new members joining us for their first Update - Welcome!! You are a great addition to our On-line Community and we look forward to working with you to achieve our On-line Community's goals. Past updates are also archived online for those who'd like to read them again.

To start with, let me say thank you once again to Myra Contessa Diokno-Sarmenta Batch 1981  in helping spread the word out thru a special courtesy Press Release effort she made for our NHS Alumni On-line community (& of course to her batch 81 site) last July 26, 2005 published at Manila Bulletin. APPLAUSE! APPLAUSE!

Another valuable asset to our online community Gloria Cecilia Galgana Batch 1985 (our dedicated July Moderator) for having invited more than 20 (or so) NHS alumni for the month of July bringing in more new members in the process. Great job Glo and thank you! APPLAUSE! APPLAUSE!

For his outpouring of support to our online community by personally inviting his batchmates to our site bringing also more members to our on-line community, a special thank you goes to Rodney Promentilla Batch 1977 . APPLAUSE! APPLAUSE!

On our Message Board, there's a topic that received quite a buzz during the month of July and I would like to personally congratulate the person responsible for it - Cherrylene Viola Monreal Batch 1980. The topic she created "Pablik's Love Team Then & Now" for the month of July have been viewed and have received 55 responses just the very first day it was posted on July 19, 2005. In fact to this date this topic have received over 350++ responses and have been viewed over 2750++ times in just less than a month. Congratulations Cherrylene!

A special recognition is also directed to Emmanuel V. Udtuhan Batch 1983 for his resourcefulness in finding for us alternate photo hosting resources (aside from Imageshack.com at http://www.imageshack.com) at http://www.photobucket.com for our Message Board and posting image/picture instructions also on our Computer Lab Forum for other members to make readily use of. THANK YOU Mr. EVU!

Finally many thanks to the rest of you that i may have missed mentioning but have made some real efforts in bringing our member registration numbers UP this July and also those active posters (you'll read their names in details below as Top 20 Message Board Posters ) who truly helped make our Message Board a lot more fun to visit this month of July. THANK YOU ALL SO VERY MUCH!!!
 
Let me say this again, our on-line community would not be where we are on the digital agenda if it were not for your outpouring of support.  I cannot stress that enough. So again thank you all from the bottom of my heart. YOU truly are my inspiration!!!N

FEATURED PHOTOS FOR THE MONTH OF JULY

SERGIO LUGOD NHS BATCH 1969

Sergio Lugod belong to NHS class of 1969. From his freshman to senior years, Mrs. Teresita Canon was their Section one class adviser. NHS Batch 1969 IV-1 have managed to stay in touch with each other and had their mini reunions through the years. During his first two years of college he was a "silent activist" attending Philippine College of Commerce, a hotbed for student activism during those years. He transferred and graduated from Lyceum of the Philippines in May 1973 and enlisted in the United States Navy in Subic Bay in July of that same year. He served on various ships and shore stations until his retirement in October of 1999. He was a Gulf War veteran having served during the Operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm and held the rank of Master Chief Petty Officer (E9) at the time of his retirement. Following his retirement in the Navy, he worked for the Washington State Department of Transportation. And in 2001, he was selected in the highly competitive Internship program sponsored by the Department of the Navy Office of Civilian Human Resources (OCHR) as Human Resources Specialist. He was one of the 14 selectees out of over 1400 applicants nationwide.  Married to the former Dolores Lachica (also NHS class of 69) they are blessed with two wonderful daughters. He completed graduate studies at National University, San Diego, CA and University of Illinois.  Currently, Sergio works as Staffing Specialist for Human Resources Services Center, Northwest in Silverdale, Washington. His office provides staffing, retirement, labor relations/employee relations and retirement services for various Navy commands in the Pacific Northwest and Washington DC/Virginia area.

VIEWING THE ALBUM (Enabled For Everyone)
You can view all of the albums in our Photo Library at MyPhotoAlbum gallery (FYI: NHS Alumni On-line Community is NOT affiliated with MyPhotoAlbum We are just using their free album-sharing resources) or one album at a time using the Slideshow function.   

-To view all of the albums in our Photo Library at once, simply click on the Slideshow link in the upper right corner of our Photo Library. 

-To view one album (per batch album) at a time, click on the cover picture of our batch album to enter it. Then click on the Slideshow link in the upper right corner of our Photo Library.

*Please note that the Slideshow function will auto-fit the width of our pictures, but not the height of our pictures.  You will need to scroll down during a Slideshow to view the entire picture.

ADDING YOUR PHOTOS TO OUR PHOTO LIBRARY (Enabled For Everyone)
Important Reminder: Before you can add photos on our Photo Library you must click on your batch album first (or if you belong to the NHS faculty, then you must click on the NHS Administration album), then create a new album to put your photos in.
-CLICK ON YOUT BATCH ALBUM FIRST TO CREATE A NEW ALBUM
-CREATING ALBUMS: In the center of our Photo Library page you will see a button that says create new album. Click on it.
You will then see instructions on how to add your photos.

ADDING COMMENTS (Enabled For Everyone)
-Simply click on your favorite photos and add your comments.
VOTING ON YOUR FAVORITE PHOTOS: (Enabled For Everyone)
-Simply click on your favorite photos and vote.

We're still looking for more NHS class year photos, and all your current photos (of course) to share with everyone...please keep them coming! :-)

We will try to make our photo library links available on our On-line Community before the end of this month (AUGUST).
