Gifts & Party Favors

It has become customary for the party host to distribute favors to guests at the reception, normally placing them at their place at the party feast. The purpose is both to thank guests for coming, to seek a blessing on the marriage (on a wedding) or a baby (on a birthday or showers) and also as a memento of the occasion so that the guests can keep the couple in mind (for weddings) or the baby (for birthdays or showers) and remember them in prayers.
